Voormalig BOS-aanvullingsplaats (Brandstof, Olie en Smeermiddelen) met acht gebouwen op de kaart en drie blusvijvers. Was in gebruik van 1956 tot 1990, anno 2003 geen gebouwen meer aanwezig maar wel het hek, asfaltwegen en verkeersborden. Van het werk zijn nog enkele restanten.

Aan de Franse Kampweg in de bossen bij Bennekom ligt al jaren een verlaten defensieterrein met een oppervlakte van ca. 4 ha. Het terrein was tussen 1956 en 1990 en BOS-aaanvullingsplaats (Brandstof, Olie en Smeermiddelen). Begin jaren 90 had defensie het terrein niet meer nodig en de ca. 6 opslagbunkers en een dienstwoning gelegen aan een U-vormige lus in het door een stevig hek omsloten bos- en heide gebied werden ontmanteld.

Overigens heeft alleen de SME het over de 'Franse Kampweg'. Het kadaster heeft het over 'Fransekampweg', en dat is ook de spelling op het straatnaambordje en in Google Maps. De drie foto's hierboven zijn gemaakt in maart 2013.

These wonderfully nostalgic photos, probably taken in the late 1950s/early 1960s, came from film rolls found in two old abandoned cameras in France. The couple in the pictures on the left are presumably French and in their twenties, which would mean they are now in their eighties, and the family in the right-hand pictures are perhaps from Spain, the young parents being in their twenties or thirties and the children about 4 to 8 years old – now in their fifties? These pictures raise all sorts of questions: who are these people, where are they from, were they holidaying and how did they lose their cameras?
