Corpus Sadhana
I give thanks to my body and I praise my body.
Body that aches, body that breaks,
adorned with the Samsaric jewels.
Unto this body, not enemy, but auspicious
companion,
cherished vessel of this one rare human
experience,
I give now offerings of loving kindness,
equanimity, fearsome resolve:
May I perpetuate this practice of praise
for my body (faltering, petulant soma, yes)
as it in turn strives and gives life unceasingly
til death does ask our clasped hands apart.
I give thanks to my body and I praise my body.
Body that bears, body that wears,
earthen cage, aching temple, precious gift.
