Metafoor

‘Alleen uiterlijk vertoon en verder gebeurt er niet zo veel.’ De ideale metafoor voor de Nederlandse gele hesjes en moeiteloos uit te breiden naar Occupy, spijbelacties en al die andere bewegingen van elders waaraan Nederlanders best een beetje vrijblijvend willen meedoen zodat ze misschien ook wel cool zijn.

Ongelukkig straattegelpatroon

Een struikelsteen met de volgende tekst op de Amsterdamseweg in Arnhem:

Het is een mooi initiatief maar de uitvoering van dit exemplaar is op z’n zachtst gezegd wat ongelukkig. Door de afwijkende kleur van de vier omliggende straatstenen en de vorm waarin ze om de stuikelsteen heen liggen, lijkt het monumentje ingebed is een soort swastika. Dat is vast niet de bedoeling geweest.

Via We Find Wildness:

Dresscode is a solo exhibition by HAMID MAGHRAOUI that is currently presented at the Frac Languedoc-Roussilon in Montpellier.

In 2012, MAGHRAOUI started to collect a certain type of international magazines available in bookshops and supermarkets in Dubaï. Those he collected have all been examined by the censor and in which anything offensive has been crossed out with a black marker. HAMID MAGHRAOUI has selected a series of these defacing images that would not typically be deemed sexual explicit, then he photographed them, reproduced them and finally present them in the form of billboard advertising.

MAGHRAOUI’s installation explores the role of images in our society, and highlight the tensions between what has been, what seems to be, and what could have been; to pick up the traces of forgotten and unresolved issues and divert them towards the viewers’ own reading.

Dresscode by HAMID MAGHRAOUI is on view at the Frac LR in Montpellier until May 14, 2016.

Nikashi GX-80D (rood)

Rode Nikashi GX-80D met Fomapan 100 Classic (černobílý negativní film). Alle foto’s zijn gemaakt in februari 2019. De vijf buitenfoto’s zijn gemaakt in Arnhem.

De rode Nikashi is te vinden op cameramuseum.nl maar veel meer dan een foto vind je daar eigenlijk niet. Als je simpelweg googelt op afbeeldingen voor de Nikashi GX-80D vind je vooral de zwarte uitvoering. De camera werkt in elk geval prima (zie boven, binnenkort is er een kleurenrol aan de beurt). Het formaat van de foto’s is 8x5. De Nikashi lijkt redelijk obscuur, maar de fabrikant/distributeur heeft wel de moeite genomen een gelokaliseerde verpakking voor het Nederlandse taalgebied te maken.
